Horseshoe Crab Tagging: The Horseshoe Crab is a fundamental part of the Delaware Bay's ecology and is essential to the life cycle of migratory shore birds. We need your help, citizen scientists, tagging and monitoring the Horseshoe Crabs of the Bay! Join our partners, American Littoral Society, Celebrate Delaware Bay, Wetlands Institute and Delaware Riverkeeper Network in this effort.
Shorebird Stewards: Shorebird Stewards patrol nine beaches along the Delaware Bay in Cape May and Cumberland Counties to ensure that resting and foraging shorebirds are not disturbed. We need your help educating beach visitors about the importance of the beaches to horseshoe crabs and migrating shorebirds. Volunteers help by handing out literature, answering questions and pointing out wildlife to visitors. Join Conserve Wildlife Foundation's team and help shorebirds. reTURN the Favor: Volunteers return crabs back to their proper side to help reduce mortality from stranding. Join eight organizations and New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife to aid the horseshoe crab population and shorebirds that rely on them for survival. |
